About me
I’m Désirée Schwarz, a footwear designer with a deep love for creating shoes with a story.
I started my apprenticeship at 16 in Pirmasens, a place once known as Germany’s shoe capital, where generations worked with leather and produced shoes for the world. Growing up and learning my craft there meant being surrounded by tradition and by people who carried decades of knowledge in their hands.
There, I learned the beauty of working with my hands and the power of ideas brought to life through materials- understanding how tanneries treated, finished and prepared leather for shoemaking, the precision of stitching, and the enduring value of creating something that lasts.
My path continued at the German College of Footwear Design & Technology in Pirmasens, where I discovered how craft, design and emotion merge into something meaningful. I was honored with the award for the best final project in partnership with the Tamaris brand of the Wortmann Group.
Since then, I’ve designed for international brands in Germany and the Netherlands, shaping collections that balance aesthetics, function and brand identity. What drives me is the moment an idea becomes a shoe, something people connect with, wear every day, and feel confident in.
I believe footwear should be more than design, it should have purpose, emotion and a clear vision.
That’s what I bring to every project.
